The Chalmers Community Volunteer Fire Department was organized on March 13, 1900 with Levi Reynolds as the first fire chief. Over the last century, many individuals from the community have served as volunteer firefighters and as department officers.

Today, the department is still made up of volunteers. We are continually upgrading our firefighting equipment and keeping up-to-date fire trucks in service. Each firefighter dedicates numerous hours to training and to community events in order to better serve the Chalmers Community.

We protect and serve citizens in the Town of Chalmers, Big Creek Township and a portion of West Point Township. We cover approximately thirty-three square miles and serve over a thousand people. We also provide mutual aid to the surrounding fire departments when called upon.

We are eager and proud to serve and protect our neighbors in this community. We want them to know we stand ready, willing, and able to assist in whatever capacity is needed.

We are always looking for qualified volunteers that are interested in joining our department. If you are interested, please look under the application tab for details.

The Chalmers Community Volunteer Fire Department would like to thank all veterans and their families for their service and sacrifices for our country.
